Marianne and Dave were married in Grand Rapids at Eve in The B.O.B. in July. The day began at Marianne’s cozy Grand Rapids home, where she and her bridesmaids got all ready for festivities.
Marianne’s mom assisted her in getting into her simple, gorgeous J.Crew gown. While her sense of style is second to none, this beautiful, minimal-frills gown suited her perfectly. Simply stunning, wasn’t she? (And for the record, YES, my heart skipped a giant beat when she dug this mannequin out of a bedroom for me to use in displaying her gorgeous, sparkly necklace for photographs! HOLY PERFECTION!!)
We headed off to Riverside Park to meet her handsome groom-to-be, Dave, for their first look on their wedding day. Something tells me it was Dave’s heart skipping beats as Marianne approached him, waiting by the water’s edge.
We snagged the bridal party for some group photos downtown. You never know what might happen with a large bridal party, but listen, these people were AWESOME. So much personality and hilarity packed into one group of people!!
We dropped them back off at the J.W. Mariott, as Marianne decided they would like to use some of their photo time to visit her grandfather, who was unable to be at the wedding. Hands down, this was one of the sweetest moments I have ever gotten to witness during a wedding day. What a wonderful man, and what a special memory that will be for Dave, Marianne, and her sisters, who were also present.
I mean, they collectively used an entire box of tissues in those twenty minutes! Okay, that’s not true – but really, what a beautiful moment.
With that, we zipped off to Eve at The B.O.B. for more photos, and for the day’s main event: the gorgeous, gorgeous wedding and reception! Remember when I said the bridal party was awesome? They “limbo’ed” under the chain that blocked off the parking lot as we arrived! No dresses were torn, nobody landed in the E.R., so that’s a total win!
The light in this place … YOU GUYS – I’m not kidding when I say that the light in your venues can make so much of a difference. There are so many windows in Eve that let all that perfect light just flood right in.
Marianne & Dave, thank you for allowing us to share in your day’s most wonderful, beautiful moments! Blessings to you both for all that lies ahead!
P.S. As always, a huge shoutout to my husband/partner in crime for not only a whole lot of amazing images, but for his calm, focused demeanor that helps the day run smoothly! I’m not kidding when I say it: I could NOT do this nearly as well without you, Joe! Thank you for being awesome!
